On a white kitchen countertop, between a water-filled sink and a bottle of refreshing wine sits a white bowl filled with delicious and colourful fruit (eg. pear, lemon, apple, lime, banana, red grapes) under a window, showing a blue sky. On the wall behind it is exhibited a smaller recursive portrait of the same bowl of fruit.

Mistigram: this recursive #ANSIart #StillLife ("a painting of a bowl of fruit") was drawn by Nitron and included in the art gallery portion of our recent food-themed IMBIBE01 electronic magazine.

Beneath the creatively calligraphed words Fried Green TOMATOES AT THE WHISTLESTOP CAFE is seen the humble wooden front of the aforementioned cafe, partially obscured by a brown train car.

Mistigram: when [profile] dosdoc got wind that we were planning the IMBIBE01 electronic magazine, he scoured his shelves for suitably food-themed literature to adapt into #ANSIart, as per his unique art practice, which brought us this conversion of #WendellMinor's cover art to Fannie Flagg's 1987 novel #FriedGreenTomatoesAtTheWhistlestopCafe.

humble lower-case purple letters describe the word imbibe, only the second i is a fresh-looking carrot

Mistigram: this one has a fun history -- Happyfish drew this crunchy little #ANSIart logo for the food-themed IMBIBE01 electronic magazine back in its first wind just before the turn of the century, fully unaware it would wait a further quarter-century before being seen and enjoyed by any other living soul. But Bugs Bunny would testify: delicious and nutritious, it was well worth the wait, doc.

Looking down from above, we see a rectangular tray supporting two teacups and other tea service paraphernalia.

Mistigram: in all the beverage discourse this week, we have overlooked one of the all-time classics. [profile] littlebitspace represents here again with this bird's eye #asciiart representation of a Japanese #tea ceremony service. This piece, titled "Tea Is Eternal", was included in the recent food-themed IMBIBE01 electronic magazine.

The smart drink smoothie recipe includes orange juice, a banana, raspberries, peach yogurt, royal jelly, ginseng, choline bitartrate, ephedra, ginkgo biloba, and ginger.
Mistigram: assuming you've recovered from the mega hangover resulting from the consumption of all that wine, the strong coffee and the swamp water slurry of soda pop, Sentience comes to the rescue with a recipe for a nootropic smart drink smoothie, direct from a '90s rave! This was included in the recent food-themed IMBIBE01 electronic magazine.

A steaming mug of coffee s fluid level drains as it opens its scowling, red eyes.

Mistigram: while we're covering beverages, here's [profile] joninscii's self-drinking #ASCIIart #coffee cup to get your week started! This was included in the recent food-themed IMBIBE01 electronic magazine.

An outlined hand extends a bottle of red wine and starts dispensing its contents into a wine glass well beyond its capacity to hold fluid.

Mistigram: if the Cola Wars discourse makes you feel like a madman, why not have a drink like someone absolutely deranged, and enjoy a bottle of red wine served in a glass? Truly my cup runneth over. This #teletext animation was made by [profile] blippypixel and included in the recent food-themed IMBIBE01 electronic magazine.

A classic Mountain Dew logo is drawn with the first word in green, stretching up to the top right corner, and the last in red at bottom right.

Mistigram: a masked fighter is climbing into the Cola Wars ring... and it's #MountainDew, drawn in #ANSIart by [profile] codefenix of Constructive Chaos BBS, testifying on behalf of his BBS's many late-night callers. This screen was included in the recent food-themed IMBIBE01 electronic magazine.

A red and white Coca-cola can, white stripe undulating beneath the logo, sits on its side as it lies on a red wooden tabletop outside in the sun, casting a stark blue shadow beneath it.

Mistigram: I'm sorry, I posted the Pepsi logo yesterday and ... well, the #ColaWars are back on, it seems. Prepare yourselves for caffeine overdose and tooth decay. This #teletext portrait of a classic #CocaCola can was drawn by [profile] blippypixel and included with the recent food-themed IMBIBE01 electronic magazine.

Front and centre is a white circle, its upper portion overlaid with a red whale-shaped splotch, its lower portion with a blue one, like a yin-yang symbol. Across the middle is written in blue letters PEPSI. Behind the circle, to the left is red and to the right is light blue.

Mistigram: the choice of a new generation! This newschool #ASCIIart rendition of the #Pepsi Cola logo was drawn by Codefenix and included in the recent food-themed IMBIBE01 electronic magazine.

Beneath a sinister meat cleaver and shocked eyeballs is a recipe for Sex in a Pan, consisting of pudding and milk over a layer of cream cheese and cool whip, over a layer of flour, butter and brown sugar.

Mistigram: Lupo the Butcher's recipe for #SexInAPan originated from 1993's #Spoon tfile ezine, and was coloured (in the process revealing for the first time in 32 years that the header art depicted a meat cleaver!) and reprinted in the recent food-themed IMBIBE01 electronic magazine.

Whether you prefer a hard-shelled corn taco or one in a soft flour tortilla, this dinner serving for taco night, accompanied by baskets of corn chips, salsa and queso, should satisfy your cravings for meat, cheese, beans and lettuce.

Mistigram: we've been waiting a couple of months to remember this muy caliente piece on this specific day of the week, but at long last everything is in place, so please enjoy with me Codefenix's #ANSIart celebration of Mexican food for #TacoTuesday tonight! This piece was included in the art gallery of the recent food-themed IMBIBE01 electronic magazine.

A tiny man, in red shirt and blue pants, clinbs up a loaf of bread like a staircase and ascends an ear of corn kernel by kernel like a rock climber, clambering about a pantry filled with enormous foods like tomatoes, milk cartons and a bunch of grapes bigger than he is.

Mistigram: this scene from #JackAndTheBeanstalk, portraying the tiny Englishman clambering over enormous food items in the giant's larder, was drawn in #ASCIIart by Mozz and included in the recent food-themed IMBIBE01 electronic magazine.

A dainty teacup flies through the air at a jaunty angle, gently separating from its saucer, as its delicious tea begins sloshing over its edge, destined for an expensive white carpet or leather sofa.

Mistigram: there's not much hot gossip in the recent food-themed IMBIBE01 electronic magazine, but nevertheless there [profile] littlebitspace was, spilling the #tea, #ASCIIart style. Truly a scene to make Arthur Dent cry.

Some gamey hunks of meat simmer in a cooking pot improvised from a shield boiling above a small cookfire along with some vegetables and spices, releasing delicious-smelling steam throughout the dungeon

Mistigram: from the recent food-themed IMBIBE01 e-mag, we share this #ANSIart illustration by Odd in homage to #DungeonMeshi / #DeliciousInDungeon. No recipe is provided, but you can expect that this delicious stew simmering in a shield is made of savoury monster body parts.

A child dressed in a chef s hat delivers a delicious tray of food held high, against an orange backdrop.

Mistigram: this #teletext tribute to the once-ubiquitous #LittleChef UK restaurant chain was drawn by [profile] andyuglifruit and included alongside the recent food-themed IMBIBE01 electronic magazine.

In a white ceramic bowl sit a pineapple, a banana, an orange and a lime, all quietly watching the viewer silently with beady little black eyes and hoping that a different fruit gets selected for the smoothie.

Mistigram: this cute little #ANSIart gang, drawn by LDA, looks like they're about to start singing in harmony like a sweet bowl full of fruity Muppets, but if they have anything to share with us they're doing it silently. They acted as a menu icon to usher in the way to the "art gallery" section in the recent food-themed IMBIBE01 e-mag.

A roguelike ASCII art pizza pie, heavily laden with green left parens, red at-symbols, and delicious qp letter pairings, fills itself up slice by slice in fifths and then disappears the same way.

Mistigram: some people measure out their lives with coffee spoons; Joninscii proposed a compelling alternative here, the #ASCIIart #pizza clock. This one isn't a Paper Thin Pizza promo, but I'm sure it's delicious regardless. It was included with the recent food-themed IMBIBE01 e-mag.

a cascade of slender yellow-brown wooden skewers, like the bristles of a broom, descend, laden with small fragments of uncooked ingredients, into the roiling red oily broth of a hot pot, licked by tongues of flame below.

Mistigram: Jackey of Pizzatoe, the most food-named crew out there, made a guest appearance in the recent food-themed IMBIBE01 electronic magazine with this #ANSIart screen of skewered tidbits broiling in #hotpot broth!

A pot of tea is viewed in profile, with the cha (茶) character emblazoned on its side.

Mistigram: before he mastered #ASCIIart, another niche field in which [profile] littlebitspace had steeped was the world of #tea infusion and service. This piece from his back catalogue represents an overlap of both worlds, yet despite its relative vintage (only four years old!) it is still relatively fresh relatively to the materials from the '90s which it was served up alongside in the time capsule of the new IMBIBE01 electronic magazine about food and drink.
