Mistigram: this gaunt steed may only represent a hacker conveying himself through cyberspace (hence the ones and zeroes, and the accents in terminal green), but we felt that [profile] mavenmob's #ANSIart scene here was creepy enough to warrant inclusion in last month's spooky MIST1025 artpack collection. (Isn't having your private files rifled through by strangers scary enough?)
Against a cloudy white backdrop, a dark rider perches atop a gaunt horse, both with glowing green eyes. Beneath them, the land gives way to binary digits.

Two veiny and discoloured organic humanoid forms oriented toward each other dissolve their faces into a stream of ones and zeroes, yielding an empty space between them in the shape of a stylised heart

Mistigram: much like its meatspace analogue, online love in digital cyberspace can be messy... but can still be well worth exploring! This #ANSIart screen by [profile] mavenmob was included in the new unthemed MIST0625 artpack collection.

Mistigram: in this hopefully allegorical #ANSIart screen by [profile] mavenmob, a red wireframe model of a meat puppet indicates low ratings in essential categories, awaiting further resources and instructions. This piece was included in last year's science fiction-themed MIST0524 artpack collection.
A wireframe model of a human head returns zero ratings in heart, soul and mind.

In a gentle pink palette, a cathode ray tube monitor that has given up the ghost ascends to the heavens against a white background, leaving a glitchy trail of gossamer box-drawing characters in its wake.

Mistigram: the fondly-remembered spirit of a bygone era, [profile] mavenmob's #ANSIart illustration 'CRT Angel' manages to enshrine a species of technological nostalgia. This screen was included in the MIST-30 artpack celebration.

Emerging from a glowing point at the base of the darkness of existence, this radical (and apparently unclothed) magical grey woman conjures four NES controllers and a ton of flashy sparkles from out of the nothingness.

Mistigram: A righteous mythological Hindu babe, third eye wide open even though the other two are hidden behind bitchin' red shades, uses her six arms to demonstrate mastery over four NES controllers, enough to dominate a round of Super Spike V'Ball while eating a biryani. This intensely nostalgic #ANSIart screen, 'Every End Is Fated In Its Beginning', was drawn by [profile] mavenmob and included in the new MIST-30 30th anniversary artpack collection.

Against a psychedelically starry night sky, a leather-clad hockey-mask-wearing psycho killer chops up a blonde teenager with a hatchet, geysers of blood spurting everywhere. Beneath the scene intone the repeating words of the mantra KILL KILL KILL KILL KILL.

Mistigram: in honour of #FridayThe13th yesterday, here's an #ANSIart illustration of the horror movie series' celebrated homocidal maniac #JasonVoorhees, doing what he loves best. This screen was drawn by [profile] mavenmob and included in last year's spooky MIST1013 artpack collection.

A bald child with a greyish pallor smiles implausibly as they are apparently torn in half vertically by some unknown gross trauma.

Mistigram: this horrific #ANSIart image, like something off of a Garbage Pail Kids card, was the only submission [profile] mavenmob had for last month's spooky MIST1024 artpack collection... but it's a humdinger! In chat people were asking why the only word the image was tagged with was "bisect" and I ask you what one word would better describe what you're seeing here? Worst of all, Velcro Boy is _smiling_ as he's torn apart. It's a mess, is what it is.

A pink hummingbird zooms, a blur, across a white background.

Mistigram: this #ANSIart screen of a #hummingbird, drawn by [profile] mavenmob, is named #OhMyLove (after the John Lennon song) and was included in last month's unthemed MIST0624 artpack collection.

A sacred pink humanoid with a binary code in place of a heart reassuringly radiates a healing aura into a blinding white emptiness it levitates in the centre of.

Against the blackness of unallocated pixels, an antennaed, red-visored humanoid made of Matrix-green circuit diagram tracings and logic gates holds the hand of a small juvenile stickman as they cross the information superhighway during a lull in network packet traffic.

Mistigram: when you were young, it was important you had someone you trusted to hold your hand and keep you safe when you crossed the busy byways and thoroughfares. This #ANSIart screen, "Father Figure", was drawn by [profile] mavenmob and was included in last month's science fiction-themed MIST0524 artpack collection.

A pair of cartoonishly large and reflective eyes, beneath a set of shapely eyebrows, float in greyness, filling with fauvist green tears that leak down, leaving box-drawing character trails like circuit diagrams.

Mistigram: a good portion of the #ANSIart screens contained in our recent science fiction-themed MIST0524 artpack collection were drawn by [profile] mavenmob. This is one such piece, "Which side of the screen are you on?", first seen being awarded 10th place in the ANSI art compo at last year's [Bad username or site: flashparty @ ar] demoparty.

Like a baby being lifted from a C-section or a carrion bird emerging from a carcass, a dark, crimson-eyed gore-flecked bird with white feathers on its wings streaks straight up into the grey sky, dripping red blood from its wings and tail.

Mistigram: This striking #ANSIart illustration by [profile] mavenmob is titled "Blackbird Why You Wanna Fly", echoing Nina Simone's song lyrics, and was included in the recent MIST1023 artpack collection.
