On a plain wooden table, beneath a season s greetings banner of crossed candy canes and next to a glass of milk and a lit red candle nestled in decorative evergreen foliage, sits a plate bearing a jolly gingerbread man. By the time Santa arrives, weeks from now, the cookie will be stale and the milk will be curdled (supposing the candle doesn t burn it all down!), but it s a nice mental picture.

Mistigram: we've just dropped an executable MS-DOS #ANSIart #AdventCalendar for December's lead-up to Christmas, for the 2nd year running. In the graveyard in the dead of night, lit by the light of the full moon, a cowled skeleton with glowing eyes in its sunken sockets, wielding a wicked scythe, emerges from between gravestones and reaches out toward the viewer. A line of large text at the bottom gives voice to his sardonic thought: GOING SO SOON?

Mistigram: Codefenix must have been meant for this #ANSIart screen to adorn Constructive Chaos BBS' logoff screen, but the accusing boney finger of the spectre of death is applicable to all viewers everywhere. It was included in last month's spooky MIST1024 artpack collection.

A snowman, with impassive face and its top hat obstructing its view, hefts an axe effortlessly as it prepares to chop down a sturdy pine tree growing in a snowy forest clearing. Beneath, candy cane letters spell out Season s Greetings! with bows, bells and holly.

Mistigram: this snowman is all business, no hard feelings, as he goes about his grim work preparing for the holiday season beneath the northern lights. Pray you don't cross his path!
