Above ground, before a light background, a healthy black cat, seemingly very much alive, goes for a little prowl. On the flip side, under the ground, an inverted feline skeleton, white bones against dark dirt, reflects its posture precisely.

Mistigram: Everyone knows that a cat has nine lives, but conversely, the name of [profile] littlebitspace's screen here featuring the sinister feline reflection is "9 Deaths". It won first place in the Extended Text Art compo at the recent [Bad username or site: flashparty @ ar] demoparty, and was included in the spooky new MIST1024 artpack collection.

A toothless cranium, scoured by the weather and blasted by the blowing of the sand in which it sits, gazes eyelessly out into eternity and contemplates how many thousands of years it will take before it also is worn down and reduced to grains of sand.

Mistigram: is it #teletext? Is it #ASCIIart? Yes. I'll tell you what it is: #vanitas. This #skull (in the sand, as the screen's title helpfully reminds us) is the handiwork of [profile] atonalosprey (what did he do with the rest of the guy? You don't wanna know!), and was included in the spooky new MIST1024 artpack collection.

A grim, grinning skeleton-on-steroids, decked out in bright raiment, looks out with two tiny red dots in his darkened eye sockets. Beneath him, slime slowly drips from the ceiling of his dread realm.

Mistigram: in the novel/manga/anime #Overlord, #Momonga remains logged in to a MMORPG during its shutdown, only to find himself trapped in the virtual realm, physically embodying his grim, skeletal avatar #AinzOoalGown -- depicted here in #ANSIart by Zeus II. This screen was included in the spooky new MIST1024 artpack collection.

A clean-shaven young blonde man is surprised (as are we!) as the snarling muzzle of a wild wolf attempts to emerge through his lips from his distended mouth and throat.

Mistigram: I've heard of "cat got your tongue?" but this is ridiculous. [profile] horsenburger drew this #teletext adaptation of the stupefying poster art for Neil Jordan's 1984 movie #TheCompanyOfWolves. This screen was included in the spooky new MIST1024 artpack collection.

A tiny little spooky lost soul taps on the buttons of a Satanically reversed solar-powered desk calculator with its wispy tail, leaving a sinister message that, like the subliminal messages in heavy metal records, can only be appreciated inverted.

Mistigram: Moth just dashed this off at the last minute so it makes for a strange specimen to make their world debut, but nonetheless, I admire its playfulness and technological bent, so I hope you all join me in appreciating the inverted message that the #Calculator #Ghost has to share with us. This piece was included in the spooky new MIST1024 artpack collection.
