MIST1121/AXL-RESIST

Against a random background, a riot of clashing colours and meaningless characters, an illustration of a desktop computer displays a simple BASIC program on its screen, exhorting the viewer over and over again to RESIST.

Mistigram: I'd say that this #PLAYSCII piece by [profile] axltm, released a year ago in the MIST1121 artpack, was prophetic, but really when has resistance been bad advice in our lifetimes? Instead I'll say we post this to commemorate the recent death of #BASIC co-inventor #ThomasEKurtz.

MIST1019/AXL-LIGHTNING_JIVE

Mistigram: Is this a transformed Guild navigator, plotting a course for the folding of space? Perhaps it's a hacker jacked permanently into the Grid? Or maybe it's just an assemblage of dead organs sewed together and made to dance with sparks. Either way, this #PLAYSCII animation was made by [profile] axltm and included in the MIST1019 artpack collection released five years ago this month.

MIST1121/AXL-INSERT_DISK

Against a backdrop of pseudorandomized dark blue / violet block characters one sees a fantasy 8-bit home computer circa the 1980s, bearing on its screen an illustrated invitation to insert a floppy diskette.

Mistigram: many wonders are possible on this 8-bit microcomputer, but before you can unlock their potential you first must insert the floppy diskette. This #PLAYSCII #JPETSCII screen by [profile] axltm was included in the recent MIST1121 artpack collection.

MIST1121/AXL-WHAT'S_WRONG_WITH_HIM

Against a random background of neon box drawing characters and hollow dots with a, primarily, black background, a desktop computer displays a checkerboard grid of dismayed yellow faces, with one nonconformist standing out in cyan by having the audacity to smile.

Mistigram: one of these characters is not like the others. This #PLAYSCII piece of #JPETSCII, titled "What's wrong with him?", was made by [profile] axltm and included in the recent MIST1121 artpack collection.
